  Poor service. Do NOT recommend.
  Purchased car from Motor Works BMW and they recommended SDM Transport as their go-to shipper. Had my BMW shipped from Illinois to Florida. Compared to my previous experience years back of shipping my last car from Ohio to Florida with a different shipper, SDM was very poorly organized. That previous company gave an arrival day, then a 4-hour window the day prior, then a call 1hr out and truck arrived within that 4hr window.
  1. SDM showed up a day late to pick up my car from dealer.
  2. The driver told dealer that I should be receiving my car the next day!
  3. After two days went by I called SDM dispatch. They could not give me an arrival date but they guaranteed it with in two weeks, but should arrive this week ..and that I'd be called when the driver is about an hour out.
  4. On the fourth day I called SDM dispatch again and was told it should arrive that same day.
  5. I got a call back that the driver couldn't enter my area because it was too small. I explained that it was normal size streets and full-size tractor trailers often make deliveries of various types throughout my non-gated neighborhood. The driver ended up parking about half-mile away and driving my car to my house. I would drive him back to his truck.
  6. Billing mixup/delay: Prior to transport beginning, dealer confirmed that I would be paying SDM directly upon arrival and via credit card ($721). The driver had a smartphone app for the billing and "accidentally" pressed some button and passed the option for credit card... then tells me that I had to pay with cash or check. I said no, sorry, I could only pay via credit card as per the original agreement. Driver was not happy and in a hurry as he explained that he was running late to his next delivery. I insisted and driver got me on the phone with dispatch and I was able to complete the credit card payment via phone.
  Overall, I'd say this transport company is very poorly organized and managed. I feel if you cannot even provide the customer with an estimated day of arrival, you shouldn't be in the delivery business!
