  I enjoy this small shop of aquatic wonders. They have well kept tanks and supply both saltwater as well as some uncommon freshwater fish. which is really appreciated by me in this hobby. As their name implies it's a fish store dedicated to the fish keeping hobby. Stocking plants, invertebrates many types of fish and supplies needed to keep them properly maintained.

  Went in today with a issue with my beta tank. Did what they recommend to fix my tank. Well what they recommend killed my beta and made the tank worse. Very unknowledgeable staff go here if you want your fish to die. It should also tell you something when you look at the stores tanks and notice numerous dead fish floating around. And talk about prices, they are insane.

  I’m a new hobbyist and have been on a mission visiting any fish store in and around Chicago and the northern suburbs.
  
  The store is clean and well organized. The tanks and animals all look well taken care of. I have purchased freshwater inverts, food and plants and have had no issues.
  
  I’ve read other reviews that say the prices seem high, but thusfar they seem around the same pricing or under compared to other fish stores around Chicago.
  
  I live much closer to another fish store which I will not name and have to drive another ten minutes to get to Fish Planet but do so because Steve has always been unfailingly kind and helpful. Being new I have a lot of questions and concerns and he’s always answered all and given good advice. I’ve been in quite a few fish stores where employees/owners are rude, dismissive and even hostile. As long as the customer service remains high I will be a loyal Fish Planet customer.
